Questions are arising whether what Arvind Kejriwal did by refusing a bail bond was right or wrong.

Questions are arising whether what Arvind Kejriwal did by refusing a bail bond was right or wrong.
We believe that what Arvind Kejriwl did was absolutely right here. We support his decision to go to jail and not submit a bail bond.

Why is arrest of a person necessary?

1. So that he does not abscond
2. So that he does not try to destroy or tamper with evidence

In this case Arvind Kejriwal did not abscond. Sec 317 CrPC even dispenses an accused from being questioned. Arvind Kejriwal was not arrested and produced before the court. He himself appeared. He never absconded. And moreover, in cases of defamation, you are already exempted from appearance except for evidence during trial and these cases could be closed by the lawyers at their level.

There is no evidence in this case which could be tampered or destroyed. If anyone could do that would be Nitin Gadkari. So he should have been arrested for precautions.

Thousands of innocent people in India including women and children are arrested every year without any specific reasons. Later, when produced before the magistrate, they are forced to submit a bail bond without any preliminary investigation being carried out. Lakhs of people are in custody only because they do not have money to pay for bail bonds. Is this fun? You are playing with the dignity of a person. People can say that Nitin Gadkari's dignity was also played with. But inspite of serious allegations against him, he was not arrested. He should have been arrested at the first place because he could still had destroyed evidences. If he was honest, why did he have to leave the President's post of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)? And unfortunately, now he is a Minister in the newly formed govt.

Lot of people and even some media houses are misrepresenting the case by comparing the case of Arvind Kejriwal and Yogendra Yadav of the Aam Aadmi Party. Both the cases are different. Yogendra Yadav has not been accused for defaming Nitin Gadkari. He was arrested for violating prohibitory orders and sitting for protest infront of Tihar Jail. He decided to submit a bond because he had violated law. His arrest and submission of bail bond are both justified.

For the benefit of millions of Indians we support this step taken by Arvind Kejriwal and request all Indians to support it. If anyone has a doubt, please ask us and we will be happy to clarify.
